Blogger Beach CleanupYes, we MNN bloggers often talk about eco-events happening in the U.S. and around the world -- and encourage you to take part in them. And I'm sure you wonder at times -- Do these MNN bloggers themselves take part in these important activities? Do they practice what they preach?

Well, no one's perfect, but I can guarantee you this: We really do our best to walk the talk. Case in point: I'd like you to join me at the Blogger Beach Cleanup, an event I'm planning for the International Day of Climate Action.

When: October 24, 2009. Meet at 4 pm; cleanup begins 4:20 pm; more fun ensues 4:40 until ?

Where: Santa Monica Beach at Ocean Park, between lifeguard stations 26 and 27. (map)

All you need to do is show up, ready to pick up trash. You’ll clean the beach — but only for 20 minutes. Beyond that, you could get a  free reusable, washable bag, win cool prizes, take advantage of snacks and drink specials at the post-clean-up party site, and meet cool friendly people.
