Mary McCartney has announced a new partnership with UK publishing house Chatto & Windus to release a cookbook featuring some of her favorite vegetarian recipes.

The 41-year-old professional photographer and daughter of famous Beatle Paul McCartney is promising a 2012 release for a book that is filled with “uncomplicated, tasty meals” and “beautiful pictures to go along with them”.

“I am excited to be working with Chatto & Windus on a contemporary vegetarian cook book,” she said in a statement. “My mother, Linda, became the focal point for vegetarians and meat reducers in the past and helped inspire many, through her books and actions, to realize that there was a viable and tasty alternative. I am so proud to be able to carry on what she started.

"Vegetarian cuisine has come a long way and with the addition of my other love, photography, we are going to try and show just how sophisticated and varied the vegetarian palate has become.”

Showing just how popular the vegetarian scene has become, celebrity Chef Jamie Oliver earlier this month also announced his own collection of plant-based recipes. "Vegetarian as a general concept is a brilliant thing," Oliver said. "We’ve got to stop eating so much meat. We are eating too much meat.”

Well, at least one member of the McCartney family is vegan - Paul's youngets daughter Beatrice. His son James was a vegan too - don't know if he still is. Yes it's frustrating that the more prominent members of the ffamily are not vegan (and Heather Mills is - that's done nothing to help the cause) but it's pointless to speculate what Linda would be doing were she still with us.You could equally say she would have renounced animal rights and taken up hunting, it would have as much meaning. All we

know is she showed no sign of moving towards veganism in her lifetime and reputedly consumed alot of dairy. PETA has many supporters who aren't even vegetarian. Do we need another vegetarian cookbook? Bearing in mind most people are not vegetarian and still ask veggies what they eat, I would say yes, we do.

If Linda McCartney were here, she would be VEGAN. The Dairy Industry is one of the most cruel industries. The McCartney family are members of PETA and other animal rights organizations. They are aware of the horrors of the dairy industry. You TURN YOUR BACK on their SUFFERING!! Anything less than a VEGAN cookbook is a total disappointment and blatant disregard for these creatures.

Velva, you are putting words into the mouth of someone who can't respond. Linda McCartney was NOT a vegan. All three of her cookbooks, including the one published the year she died, included free-range, organic eggs, and vegetarian-rennet cheese, as ingredients. She encouraged people to support cruelty-free ingredients, but did not refuse to use *all* animal products - only the ones that cause pain to the creatures she loved. Any cookbook that promotes non-cruelty, delicious food is a wonderful addition

to the library of the world. I applaud Mary McCartney for continuing to carry the torch that her mother so aptly carried before her.
