If you, like all my female friends, are trying to get more quinoa into your diet, I’ve got a new breakfast for you: Ancient Grains Granola with Almonds.
Here’s a deliciously sweet granola — just like mama never made. Concocted by my favorite organic cereal company, Nature’s Path along with Kirkland Signature, Ancient Grains Granola with Almonds brings together five healthy grains — spelt, kamut khorasan wheat, amaranth, quinoa and oats — into a crunchy, nutty concoction.
Though sweeter than my usual oatmeal breakfast, this granola has a modest 9 grams of sugar per 3/4-cup serving — a serving that’ll give you 6 grams of fiber and 5 grams of protein, too. I recommend it with unsweetened soy milk for extra protein without the extra sugar!
But I also recommend making Ancient Grains Granola Pear Crisp (below) with the stuff — which means adding in sugar and butter — for a relatively healthier but satisfying dessert, or a rather decadent breakfast…. Next up: Ancient Grains Granola Peanut Butter Bites!
