Linda McCartney Foods

For their first commercial advertisement in over 15 years, Linda McCartney Foods, the vegetarian company founded by the late wife of Beatle Paul McCartney, is mixing a bit of old with new.

The company today released a preview of the beautifully animated ad, set to air in the UK on January 28th, that features music by Paul McCartney and narration by singer-songwriter Elvis Costello. The campaign was created to promote a new line of frozen meat-free dishes.

"Produced by world renowned Passion Pictures, whose other work includes projects for The Beatles and The Gorillaz, the animation transports viewers into a fairy-tale world where characters including Horse boy, Napoleon Dog and Ballerina Cat join the McCartney family in a musical fanfare that culminates with a woodland feast," a statement reads.

The effort marks the first time that Paul McCartney has specifically recorded a song for a commercial - in this case, a re-recording of a B-side track from his 1971 album "Ram."

Says Costello, a vegetarian since the early 80's: "Linda always talked well and made it seem that you wouldn't be joining a secret weird society by being vegetarian."

Check out the commercial below.
