Believe it: Sarah Palin is writing a fitness book. 


The former Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential nominee (and let's not forget political pundit and reality television star) is crafting a tome that will inform people how best to balance diet and good health. 


Her reveal of the book, which so far does not appear to have a publisher attached, came after photos of the 48-year-old surfaced showing her looking extremely thin and fit. When the new look was questioned, Palin shot back with news of her latest project. 


"Our family is writing a book on fitness and self-discipline focusing on where we get our energy and balance as we still eat our beloved homemade comfort foods!" she told People magazine.


Palin described it as a "unique and motivating book," adding: "We promise you what we do works and allows a fulfilling quality of life and sustenance anyone can enjoy."


In a 2008 interview with the Wall Street Journal, Palin revealed how she enjoys running, at one point covering seven to 10 miles per day before becoming pregnant with her fifth child. She also said her family enjoys eating a diet that was "heavy in wild Alaskan seafood, moose, caribou and fresh fruit."


"I guess my biggest pitfall is breakfast," she added. "I know it's the most important meal of the day, but I still haven't bought into it. I hate to admit it, but a skinny white-chocolate mocha is my staple in the morning."


No release date has been set for Palin's fitness book.
