Detox cleanses and juice diets may be all the rage right now, but ask Tina Fey and she'll tell you that it's not something she's willing to try again.
The 41-year-old comedian, who became a first-time mother last August, told a local news channel that efforts to drop her post-pregnancy weight quickly blew up in her face — literally.
"I don't really believe in those (cleanses) — your body's not like a purse, you're not supposed to turn it inside out and shake it... But I was like, 'Oh, I don't care, I just need to jump-start this.' So I tried it.," she said.
"You start with, like, a shot of ... wheat grass or aloe, which tastes like liquid Band-Aids or, like, fish tank water. And then you have more juice and more juice and then later at night you get a vegan meal — it's a treat. And it had a thing on it called carrot cheese balls. And it's not even real cheese balls, so I don't know that it was."
Unfortunately for Fey, whatever was in those faux cheese balls did not agree with her body.
"It was pretty good but then ... I had some kind of allergic reaction to it and my lips swelled up," she added.
Needless to say, Fey gave up the diet.
