Have you ever enjoyed a meal out at a raw vegan restaurant and felt a bit gassy afterwards?

The writers behind IFC's comedy series "Portlandia" want you to know you're not alone. A clip from this week's episode shows actors Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein playing two teachers who decide to hit up a raw foods joint based its popularity with their students. After dining on what Armisen exclaims "felt like real food," the couple suddenly realizes that they can't stop farting.

Thankfully, the restaurant features a "Fart Patio" to deal with such apparently common occurrences. Yes, it's gross - but yet another hilarious reminder of the genius of Portlandia.

"It's mostly improvised," Armisen told Esquire last year about the series, now in its third season. "We shoot on location at all these houses in Portland, so it doesn't feel like it's at a studio. And Carrie and I try to keep things positive. Not cynical, not ironic."

Portlandia airs Fridays on IFC at 10/9c.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT eat the jerusalem atrichoke! Beans cause gas because they have about 3 to 5% of a starch that humans cannot digest but the bacteria in our gut can. The jerusalem artichoke has 90% to 95% of that starch...... , its not pretty.
