Wingsuit insanity: Skimming the tree tops and surfing the gaps
Watch as a wingsuit pilot tempts fate with a crazy hurtling plunge down the slopes of the Alps.

We're big fans of wingsuit flying here at MNN
so I knew I had to post this video as soon as I saw it. Wingsuit flying is, more or less, the act of throwing yourself at the ground and missing. Practitioners ride the so-called ground effect
, gliding close to the ground in webbed suits reminiscent of flying squirrels, as they surf down the vertical gradient.
This video is the craziest wingsuit run that I've ever seen. The amount of courage required to do something like this is staggering. It probably helps to have a little bit of insanity swirled into the mix.
