A couple dressed as a bride and groom take part in the Maldon Mud Race on May 5 in Essex, England.

The Maldon Mud Race originated in 1973 and has evolved into a charity event organized by the town's local Rotary and Lions clubs. The event, which draws thousands of spectators, involves competitors dashing from one side of the River Blackwater to the other at low tide.
