What about Dr. Agus' of THE END OF ILLNESS fame who believes all inflammation leads to illness. He's specific about foot support both indoor and out. As a dancer who often went barefoot, I'm dealing with osteopathic inflammation in my feet--it's no fun. As for injuries, if you push beyond physical limits, you can injure yourself.
