Pascale Honore was left paralyzed after a car accident 18 years ago, and while she accepted the fact that she'd never walk again, she still dreamed of surfing.

That dream became a reality when her sons' friend, Tyron Swan, who is a professional diver and big-wave surfer, suggested they try duct taping Honore to his back while he surfed.

They bought a backpack and cut holes in it for Honore's legs, and once she'd slipped into it, they used a roll of duct tape to secure her to Swan's back.

The experiment was a success, and now the surfing pair are a common sight at the beach near Elliston in South Australia.
