April 29, 2010: On his nationally-syndicated radio show, Rush Limbaugh (at right) broadly suggests that "eco-terrorists" deliberately caused the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, America's largest, as a lobbying chip to push for climate and energy legislation. It's worth noting that BP has already acknowledged its responsibility for the spill at this point.
April 29, 2010: Nine days after the initial accident and five days after the first confirmation of spilled oil, federal officials order skimmers and containment booms to the Deepwater Horizon spill. The first reports of oil reaching Louisiana marshes come in.
