Kristi Yamaguchi

Kristi Yamaguchi, the women’s skating champion at the 1992 Albertville Olympics, started her Always Dream Foundation in 1996. The foundation’s goal is to promote early childhood literacy as a means to better achievement in school, and by extension, in life. She also works to increase the level of technology in high-need classrooms and create innovative reading programs as a means of developing literacy. Yamaguchi published her first children’s book, “Dream Big, Little Pig!” in 2011. The book debuted at #2 on the New York Times bestseller list and was followed up by Yamaguchi’s second kids book, “It’s a Big World, Little Pig!” in 2012.
