As we inch ever closer to Christmas, celebrities are releasing family holiday cards online. Some of amusing, others silly, and one in particular is just eye-rolling. So, without further ado, here are five of the most interesting so far...
1. Mena Suvari's Giant Cat Card
Actress Mena Suvari, best known for her roles in "American Beauty" and the "American Pie" franchise, did the Internet a favor and included this amalgamation of horrible Christmas sweaters and a giant cat. You just can't go wrong with including larger-than-life cats in your holiday card.
2. Kelly Clarkson's 'Family Tied Up' Card
Now here's a classic card that's both cute and funny. Clarkson (who is pregnant with her first child) and her new husband Brandon Blackstock, his kids from a former marriage, and their two pups are all tied up while Santa sips milk and eat cookies. The pic is also bittersweet because it features Clarkson's recently departed "soul mate," a black miniature Labradoodle named Joplin. The pup, adopted from a rescue shelter in 2011, passed away in November after a battle with cancer.
3. The 2013 Kardashian 'We've Lost Our Collective Minds' Christmas Card
The 2013 Kardashian Family Holiday Card is what happens when the Christmas spirit takes acid, purchases everything from a "Spencer's Gifts" catalog, and then vomits the entire thing on Instagram. According to RadarOnline
, this entire mess took three days to shoot at a cost of more than $250,000. It's a strange departure from the reality television family's usual cards
— which are still high-production, but far less "complicated" and "nauseous." If you get one of these in the mail, burn it quickly.
4. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi's 'Bound 2' Christmas Card
As an amusing response to the Kardashian card's attempt to ruin Christmas, Ellen DeGeneres debuted her own card, a spoof of the ridiculous Kanye West/Kim Kardashian video
that debuted earlier this year. The card reads, "Bound for a Merry Christmas" and "Love, Ellen & Portia."
5. LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian 'Naughty' Card
Christmas pajamas, check. Cute kids, check. LeAnn Rimes recently posted her family's Christmas card — and despite featuring no animals, it wins for its beautiful normality. "Naughty is the new nice," reads the card, which features the couple with Cibrian's sons Mason and Jake. "Thank goodness or we'd all be gift-less," it says. "Here's to a jolly holiday and a naughty 2014. The Cibrian Family."
