Could our favorite city slickers-turned-farmers be making it official this fall?
Rumors are swirling that Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer Purcell of Planet Green's hit series "The Fabulous Beekman Boys" may be tying the knot soon. With New York state finally backing gay marriage, I've no doubt the thought has crossed their minds — not to mention that the network would probably love to film some kind of down-on-the-farm ceremony.
According to the site RumorFix
, Sonja Morgan of "Real Housewives of New York" is apparently being considered to host the big bash, though the location doesn't make much sense considering the Beekman brand.
"I love them dearly and any luxury brand restaurant/hotel in N.Y. would guest my jet set clientele to fete this couple," she said. "Who doesn’t love them? They are the best and I pull out all the stops for them and throw in one of my cabaret skits for them, Ala Marilyn or Barbara."
Later, Star magazine claimed that Rosie O'Donnell was actually going to host
, citing a source saying that "Josh and Brent are planning to reveal a huge surprise on Rosie’s new show in early October." O'Donnell's rep later shot those rumors down.
Regardless of how you feel about this news, perhaps the biggest question weighing on the minds of Beekman fans is if Planet Green will greenlight a third season. The network has been uncharacteristically slow in making a decision, with last year's renewal announcement coming several days before the conclusion of Season 1. For perspective, Season 2 ended back on May 17.
"You HAVE to do another season, do you know how many people I have turned onto you guys?!," wrote one impassioned commenter. "We are talking a total fan club here that cannot be disappointed and we love you so much that we are living our lives thinking "wwtbd" (what would the beekman's do)."
