It was widely anticipated that Warner Bros. might pull the curtain back a bit on its "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" film at Comic-Con, but eager fans received that and a bunch more on Saturday morning.

In addition to a brief appearance by Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Gal Gadot (all playing Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman respectively), director Zack Snyder also showed off a 30-second tease of the film — a nice present for fans eager for May 2016 to arrive.

"Batman is standing on a Gotham rooftop in the rain ... His costume isn't what we've seen already," writes Superhero Hype in a description of the trailer. "It's big and bulky, like his armor in The Dark Knight Returns. His eyes light up, solid white. He's moving a tarp, revealing the bat signal. He turns it on and the camera tracks up to the sky. Superman is there, hovering in the light. He doesn't look happy. His eyes light up with heat vision as he glares at Batman. The title comes up!"

While none of the leading actors said anything to fans (perhaps next summer's Comic-Con will give us a bit more), you can tell that their workout regimens for the film are paying off. Affleck in particular, who reportedly added 40 pounds for the role, looked even bigger than Cavill. Seeing them standing side-by-side, it's easy to see how Batman might dominate a weakened Superman.

“You can talk all you want about other superhero movies, but it’s Batman and Superman, let’s just be honest,” said Snyder in a recent interview. “I don’t know how you get bigger than that.”
