Not since January have we seen or heard much of anything regarding director Joshua Stern's "JOBS" starring Ashton Kutcher. The biographical film, based on the career of the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, debuted at the Sundance Film Festival, released a short preview clip to the public, and then went dark. In the meantime, comedy site FunnyOrDie took advantage of the gap to release its own satirical Steve Jobs biopic starring Justin Long.
Less than two months away from its Aug. 16 release, we finally have the first full trailer for "JOBS" — and surprisingly, it looks pretty great. When Stern first announced back in April 2012 that Kutcher would play Jobs, I, like everyone else, had doubts. I have to say, however, that if you weren't convinced by the first clip, this new trailer really does confirm that Kutcher was a solid choice.
"Ashton is going to blow a lot of people away," Stern said earlier this year. "His performance was absolutely transformational. If he looked any more like Steve Jobs, I think it would just confuse a lot of people in thinking Steve Jobs never passed away. It’s that uncanny.”
"I ended up in the hospital two days before we started shooting the movie," Kutcher told reporters at the Sundance Film Festival in January. "I was doubled over in pain, and my pancreas levels were completely out of whack — which was completely terrifying, considering everything."
