Betty White has been biding her sweet time in joining Twitter. But that's okay; the wait was worth it.
The 90-year-old sassy actress finally made the leap this week, using the social networking tool to start promoting her new prank show, “Betty White’s Off Their Rockers."
"Hello Twitter!," her first post reads. "And they said it would never happen. Oh wait, that was me."
White, who also stars on the hit series "Hot in Cleveland," then took aim at Twitter powerhouse Ryan Seacrest saying, "Hey @RyanSeacrest — my new show airs tomorrow and I hear we're in the same time slot. I've always dreamed of sharing a night with you..."
As of this morning, White has just more than 200,000 followers — not bad for someone who just started tweeting less than three days ago!
Back in January, on the eve of turning 90, White said that she certainly doesn't feel her age and is enjoying every moment.
“I’m not only blessed with good health, but good energy,” she said. “I can credit my folks for the genes that put that together. But I can’t get over that at this age, I don’t feel this age. I’m not trying to be any younger. I’m not lying about my age. If I were lying about my age, I would say I was 89. I’m just at one of those good times in your life, and there’s been so many of those through those 90 years, but I’m at one of the high spots. I’m healthy enough to enjoy it. I’m surrounded by friends I adore. Isn’t that kind of the best way to sign off?”
