Cameron Diaz wants the farm life

Actress says she'd love to spend time 'working with the earth'.

Cameron Diaz is no stranger to the natural world — but could the "Knight and Day" actress make it as a real-life farmer?

In a recent interview, Diaz expressed her desire to work the earth and live somewhere away from the spotlight.

"I’ve always been on the move. So what I’d love to do is spend a whole year in one place, on a farm. I’d get to raise my own crops and livestock and for once just see how life is cultivated," contactmusic.com quoted her as saying.

"It’s almost like this primal thing. I really just feel as if the earth is where we all come from and we have nothing if we don’t have soil and water and sun. I’ve read a lot about agriculture and I feel the need inside me to work with the earth in some way," she added.

While the farming life may seem romantic and idyllic to someone living in Los Angeles, it definitely also comes with its fair share of demanding work and stress. Granted, Diaz would never take on an entire farm without some help — but you have to wonder if she would burn out and retreat to the closest spa or actually stick with it.

Either way, it doesn't look like she'll be settling down anytime soon. "At some point I'll either want kids or make the decision that I don't," she recently told The Daily Mirror. "At the moment I'm very happy with things the way they are."
