'First Dog' Bo Obama receives YouTube date proposal

Goldendoodle Ramona pops the question as part of a humorous campaign by the Oregon Humane Society to promote its annual 'Doggie Dash' event.

Could those YouTube video proposals aimed at achieving celebrity dates also work for famous dogs? That's the hope behind a humorous new video created by the Oregon Humane Society focusing on first dog Bo Obama.

The organization is hoping Bo will accept the loving proposal of a Goldendoodle named Ramona and become grand marshal of the group's annual Doggie Dash. The May 11 event, which draws thousands of people to downtown Portland to run with their dogs, is aiming to raise $450,000 this year.

"That money would not only help animals find their forever homes, but also provide more than 1,000 needed surgeries for shelter pets, 5,000 free or low-cost spays and neuters, and the resources to investigate 1,000 cases of animal cruelty this year," writes Ramona in a letter to Bo. "Your presence would make this Doggie Dash the most special yet. We so hope you can come, or, if not, can at least write me back. Because I love you, and want to marry you, and be the First Dog-Lady of the United States. (FDLOTUS)."

You can check out Ramona's cute proposal below. So far, the White House has yet to throw her a bone on Bo's schedule for May.
