If last year's announcement of a film project involving dinosaurs fighting aliens got you the least bit excited, prepare to grin wider. 

 

Director Barry Sonnenfeld ("Men in Black" triology, "Wild Wild West") has released an illustrated preview of the new "Dominion: Dinosaurs Versus Aliens", produced by Liquid Comics and slated for a web premiere on Yahoo! Screen July 23rd. The comic book adaptation is being penned by Grant Morrison with Sonnenfeld handling the movie adaptation. 

 

"Growing up, my fascination was all things dinosaur, and as an adult, I've had some success making films about aliens, so this is a dream come true," Sonnenfeld told Deadline last year. "We've been trying to do a project ever since."

 

According to earlier interviews, the film will involve aliens attacking a prehistoric Earth, with dinosaurs (who have been given a generous bump in intelligence by Morrison) being our world's only hope.

 

Of course, how dinos manage to fend off an advanced species without weapons is beyond me - but obviously, Sonnenfeld and Morrison have figured out a method. And honestly - I can't wait to see it. 

 

Check out the trailer for the film below. If reception is positive, the creators say a live-action CGI 3-D film is on the horizon. Make it so, Sonnenfeld!
