The next time Teddy Sheringham hits a gourmet restaurant for some grub, he'd be wise to make sure it isn't owned by Gordon Ramsay.
The former pro player leveled the famous celebrity chef from behind during a celebrity soccer charity match in the U.K. Though he was seen smiling after the hit, Ramsay was clearly shaken up and received oxygen while being carried off the field on a stretcher. He was later released from a local hospital.
"Thx 4 all the messages. Out of hospital after receiving amazing care from medics at ground & hospital. Bit sore but fine," Ramsay wrote Monday on Twitter.
Ramsay was one of several celebrities and former pro players representing the Rest of the World team in "Soccer Aid." The annual tournament raises cash for UNICEF, with this year's event bringing in more than $6.4 million. Famous names hitting the field included Gerard Butler, Mike Myers and Woody Harrelson.
Will Ferrell, who also participated, joined Ramsay on the injury list after limping off the field in considerable pain late in the game.
