If you love what Global Inheritance is doing to green Coachella — but wish that music fest offered green living workshops, yoga classes, and more organic food options — you may want to buy tickets to Lightning in a Bottle instead. Watch the video from last year to get a feel for the event.

Now in its sixth year, Lightning in a Bottle promises a greener than ever four-day, three-night festival. The event earned the European Festival Awards’ Outstanding Greener Festival Award for 2010, and plans to return to Oak Canyon Ranch in Silverado, Calif., for this year’s Memorial Day weekend, May 27-30. Expect to play and learn at this eco-educational festival. Take advantage of green living workshops, yoga and dance classes, organic food vendors and live eco-art exhibits.

Of course, many attendees go primarily for the music — and the headliners this year are certain to attract big crowds. Compared to past years — when I didn’t even recognize the headlining bands, though this may say more about me than the event — Lighting in a Bottle's 2011 lineup will include Thievery Corporation, Pretty Lights and many more musicians, artists and performers on the stages.

See and hear them all this Memorial Day weekend. Tickets are available now, starting at $195 for a three-day pass.
