So here's the thing: I understand that certain bugs cooked the right way can be delicious. I've never tried it myself, but I'm willing to bet I could survive it. That eating bugs is part of certain cultures is nothing new.
But Salma Hayek's revealing that she's a fan of ant eggs with guacamole or "smokey-tasting" grasshoppers comes across as odd to me. Just a couple weeks ago, this same woman nearly crushed her co-stars when a snake slithered onto the set of an interview. I mean, it was literally as if the mouth of hell had opened under her feet.
And now she's on David Letterman's show, talking about the subtle flavors of a species of small grasshoppers. I guess we all have our phobias — and it's good to know that Hayek isn't afraid of all creatures.
