Christmas spirits run high

Revelers dressed up as Santa Claus (and Jesus Christ?) run along Tompkins Square Park on Dec. 14 to participate in the annual SantaCon bar crawl in New York City.

SantaCon is an annual worldwide event that takes place in more than 300 cities in 44 countries.

The event is so well-attended in New York City that some community groups have established "Santa Free" zones, where bars refuse to serve alcoholic beverages to participants whose drunken public behavior gives Santa a bad name.
