Tommy Lee has partnered with PETA to condemn SeaWorld for keeping whales in captivity — and to criticize the way they use them to harness sperm.
The Motley Crue drummer and ex of fellow animal activist Pamela Anderson fired off a letter to SeaWorld execs specifically targeting a 12,000-pound orca named Tilikum. Readers might remember this whale from its involvement in the death of three people, most recently Dawn Brancheau
, a 40-year-old trainer with 16 years of experience at SeaWorld.
"We understand that you refuse to release this frustrated whale because he is your chief sperm bank," writes Lee. Then his letter gets even more bizarre and details how the SeaWorld collects the sperm .... whoa.
Lee ends the note by requesting once more that SeaWorld do the right thing and release these animals back into the wild. You can check out the full letter over on TMZ here
