Want to DJ at Coachella? You can get your chance — if you can recruit the human energy to power your set.

That opportunity — dubbed EnergyFACTory — comes courtesy of Global Inheritance, a green nonprofit that uses technology, art, and interactivity to educate and empower people to make smarter decisions for the planet. Just find 18 or more friends willing to see-saw, swing, bike, run in hamster wheels and turn hand cranks — thus providing the power needed for your 40-minute set. Of course, you need to be able to DJ. Send your website or sample tracks to EnergyFACTory@globalinheritance.org by Monday, March 14 to get considered. Vist Global Inheritance’s Coachella page for more details.

Not a DJ? Global Inheritance still has some sweet incentives for eco-minded Coachella attendees. For one, carpoolers who ride in a group of four or more can place a sign that says “CARPOOLCHELLA” on their dashboards for a chance to win a variety of prizes — including a VIP tickets to Coachella for life!

Once at the festival, enterprising recyclers who collect 10 or more plastic water bottles can receive a free water bottle for their hard work — though I really hope the festival will have water refilling stations around for people who bring their own reusable water bottles.
