Green tips from the "Criminal Minds" of Paget Brewster, Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook and Kirsten Vangsness. (Gerri Miller)

Read the transcript

Paget Brewster: I'm Paget Brewster.

Matthew Gray Gubler: I'm Matthew Gray Gubler.

A.J. Cook: I'm A.J. Cook.

Kirsten Vangsness: I'm Kirsten Vangsness and you're watching the Mother Nature Network.

Paget Brewster: Hello, my name is Paget Brewster, my green tip of the day is when you buy scallions at the supermarket and you chop off just the greens, put the rest, the bottom of the scallion in a glass, cup or bowl and it'll continue to sprout greens for a month, so you never have to buy scallions again. I love it.

Matthew Gray Gubler: I'm Matthew Gray Gubler and my green tip of the day is drive an old diesel.

A.J. Cook: I'm A.J. Cook and here's my green tip of the day: always recycle. I grew up recycling. Just find a place in your house, it doesn't have to be big, just make sure all the recyclables go into that place, it's so much easier and you to just pick it up and bring it out the recycling box instead of having to sort it later.

Kirsten Vangsness: I'm Kirsten Vangsness and my green tip is this: you always go places that they always give you too many paper napkins. So what you do is you take the extra ones and you put them in your purse, and you use them again — you use them whenever. And you can use them more than once! A little bit of spaghetti sauce does not mean you've used them. Use them at least twice.
