10 of the world's biggest unsolved mysteries: Go figure
The Urantia Papers are definitely the most mysterious of all things to appear in the 20th century.
I work at JRSMedical and we have some down time. I like to try to decipher simple codes. It is amazing that man can come up with such complicated codes so far back in our history. It is a bit easier now with the computational power we have to break some of these codes.
All of these and nothing about the many decades of crop circles appearing all over the world? There are thousands of them at this point, using fractal geometry and modifying the DNA of the crops. Seems like a rather important one to "leave out".
It is not complete...............Something is missing........................i can try to solve it.....................
It is just a picture of two guys working in a parcel delivery facility and they are looking at a box of fish (see fish symbol at the top).
And, typically, the parcel is upside down (see wine glass symbols)
I just see simple Capetian writing. Maybe if someone where to uncover the rest it would make sense to someone who could translate for them. It could also mean something terrible, or not be able to be uncovered
Whats mysterious about the egyptian picture? Plain hieroglyps, it seems to me.
The flower (the symbol ending in a kind of arrow pointing down) is CHa, meaning 'thousand.
It appears several times in the text that is probably a list of offerings to a temple. Above and under the first CHA on the left are two words meaning 'a çeremonial girdle of somekind', in Egyptian: MenChet.
Everything is a mystery or an unsolved puzzle until we learn to understand its language. The mystery is our own method understanding things, how much do we need to know to be able say, 'yes I understand that'.
Seriously???? This article classifies as 10 of the worlds biggest unsolved mysteries???
Who approved this??
my god, hey, its the simple code of past human culture, could it be so hard to explain those simbols?
They missed the biggest real mystery of all, the Nazca lines in Peru. While creating a code or a bunch of gibberish is not all that hard, the Nazca lines are a true mystery. Even if you buy into the idea that the Inca could see some of the drawings from foothills or fly in hot air balloons or alien spacecraft, why bother?
Have you seen them on the ground? I have. No mystery. You don't have all the data. Some pathways, some ceremonial. Many intersect mounds to direct "traffic" for trade, food supply lines; some irrigation. All stones moved by hand. Inca, Myan, Aztecs, Anasazi. Same lines seen in Arizona, New Mexico. Masters at rope, snapped lines like surveyors, before lazers. No aliens required, just necessity, will, and determination!
What is your opinion about those lines. if interested, please reply back at firstname.lastname@example.org
The lines are man-sized. Most pictures you see have no object to give you a frame of reference. There are plenty with an archaeologist straddling the drawings.
If Anyone can locate the UK's Legal System please tell me..wine bar, side bar, five bar, bah bah..do NOT count..CW
Sum history is better left alone...scientists never lived 2c them...yet they say they know..."REALLY"...come on...god said..all will come 2pass...which is the way it's happening...wake up world...ty tyvm..:)
Here's another one - how come there are 12 pictures in the "10 Greatest Mysteries" (and where is picture no 12?!)
10 mysteries on ten of the slides-an introductory slide and a closing page with the restart and link to other galleries.
Mysteries from years and years ago?????How could anyone solve them??????Waste of time....I don't believe one us know the begginning of any of these mysteries...much more solving them...a.minute ago is history and will never come back.
U R Right. A minute ago, becomes History.
We should just accept whatever IS now
and forget the Past, which we cannot UNDO
No it's better to remember, in case we repeat the same mistakes, like the (Hitler etc.)atrocities of the past and present which become history a day later.
Yeah, like Hegel said, the only thing we have learned from history is that we have not learned from history.
Nothing is Hidden.
We just have to open our THIRD EYE, to see which all human beings have.
Mixing of DNA is vital to survival of the species. Therefore it follows that multiple partners for a female of any species is beneficial. Just look at any isolated community to study the effects of in-breeding. These superstitious Stone Age religions are only holding back all mankind from our true potential.
There was research failure, it need it investigation since begining. Please read an article from Reader Digest few time before about how to kill a president. The assasination was inspired in that recomendations.
Las traducciones son manifiestamente pobres... Hay que mejorarlas... y mucho, pues a veces distorsionan y dificultan la cabal interpretación de lo dicho...
Of course, the Bible depends on transators to relay the Word of God,
How good were the translators?
Actually, the male mammal is not geared toward fidelity. His DNA has "programmed" him to further the species in any way possible; fidelity is a decision, rather than something in keeping with animal nature.
(I've never cheated on a woman in my life, so this is not rationalization. Fellas: Don't commit if you can't control your members.)
Libor B, your comment 'The limited capability of our brains' is 100% correct.
Those who think otherwise, may contemplate these questions:
How and Where from did EVERYTHING (including that force/energy, which is popularly referred to as God) come into existence?
What was there before the Big Bang?
Why is there anything at all - And if there would be nothing - where would that
(Be carefull if you are trying to figure those questions out you may go mad!)
Claudejrlandry were you there when the Big Bang did not happen??
How do you know there was no Big Bang?
Don't just make a statement without an explanation - or prove.
Isn't this just a philosophy? Do you have any evidence at all for that statement? Can't you also say that stable societies are more viable? This sort of comment masquerades as science but really it's just philosophy.
It does seem significant that on a planet with a large inhabited landmass consisting of a lot of countries, five of those mentioned are in the USA. Another mystery perhaps.
I think its good to have mysteries,we should not know everything, then we would never want to learn about new things.
I thought "The Wow" sound was explained by noise left from the Big Bang. Or did I watch a bad couple of documentaries on the subject?
Is it a mere coincidence, or yet another mystery, that all these relate to deciphering the linguistic code?
Truly disappointed with the list.. I thought t'would 'a been NATURAL mysteries - not all "Homo sapienic" in origin...
so exactly, not all in universe can be explained with clear. because our world have old enough. and maybe the cryptic will be absurd forever.
I`m afraid you are wrong. All things can be exaplained, every little detail on this planet and the rest of the universe can be explained, the problem is people are too busy looking at the end of their own noses. The questions is not the problem, the problem is the people not understanding the answers.
This is silly. It assumes that our understanding, brain power, or whatever you like to call it, is as complex as the most complex functioning in the cosmos. Absurd
Actually, in mathematics it is *proven* that there are facts (true propositions) that it is impossible to prove are true. Surprisingly, human thought is strangely limited by seemingly obvious claims like "all things can be explained". See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurt_G%C3%B6del for more on Kurt Godel and his incompleteness theorems.
However, Godel's incompleteness results involve infinite things, such as the set of all natural numbers. The impossibility to prove facts that are true about *all* of the infinitely many natural numbers are thus largely irrelevant to real-world problems, and are only relevant to abstract disciplines such as mathematics or theoretical computer science.
PS: This is not to say that I'd agree with the solvability of all questions. The limited capability of our brains is a good argument against it.

You speak for yourself, boyo !
I think Earth has many mysteries it will hide from humans. Some things God wants kept a secret. Earth has not revealed all her secrets. It makes life more interesting.
I learned recently about the moving stones on Death Valley. Should they make the list? Or isn't it real? Or was the explanation already confirmed? Loved the top 10, spend hours reading about the Kryptos afterwards! :)
Melissa, the answer to the stones is moist clay and a whole lot of wind, and it's been caught on film!
Those moving stones have been explained, its the ground freezing and the wind, a combination of those two, nothing weird about it.
Would have thought that Oak Island in Nova Scotia (the money pit) would have made this list. 300 years and can still not figure out how the booby trapped pit was made and who it was made by, and what is supposedly there.
We are not alone in an empty universe. We are all linked by a common genetic string, that is why our blood can save the life of each other regardless of race or ethnic consideration. That great compatibility and commonality is profound. The secret of life and its ultimate purpose will be solved.
Deejo said: ....who made mistake human to create...
Deejo if you mean God made a mistake in creating humans, then he would be a pathetic god who does not know what he is doing!
Obviously that can not be.
A God, or better - an unknown Force/Energy that is able to manifest the Universe (from which we humans evolved) knows exactly what IT is doing - and we should not tranfere our (human) limitations onto that kind of Supreme Creating Force/God .
If you are using internet explorer, use it to download a new browser. Firefox or chrome will do nicely.
"The odds against Shugborough residents Viscount Anson & M. Vernon-Venables (of Overley, Orgreave & Shugborough) being involved in the creation of a "code" containing the letters VAVV & OuOS are implausibly astronomical."
Mr Morton,in my opinion, cuts through the nonsense, his work is informative and to the point. It`s all just a "Google" away if you care to look.
I worked out the Nazca lines years ago, and the answer so obvious, the world, meaning our world and planet dies every 100 000 years, whole civiliizations are wiped out by plague, heat, cold, by planetary movement connected with orbit, by the boiling and overheating of seas and water and oxygen evaporation, and we become 'dead planets, these lines tell us that an unknown civilization lived there and died. Earth can go topsy-turvey and the north pole becomes the equator etc,
