Seattle has always been famous for its music. From Jimi Hendrix to Pearl Jam to Macklemore, the Emerald City has produced some of music's most famous acts. Bumbershoot bills itself as an "arts festival" that offers great music alongside spoken word, performance art, visual art, films and even stand-up comedy. Located at Seattle Center and held over Labor Day weekend, this festival draws a truly diverse list of acts. Indie luminaries like Bob Mould and the Breeders have played here in the past along with acts like fun., Maceo Parker, Death Cab for Cutie and MGMT. Because of all the other types of performances and screenings, many people call Bumbershoot "the largest urban arts festival in the country." Even if you only come for the music, this is still an impressive event.
