Looking up Broadway from Dey Street

This image was shot in 1900 and was taken from Dey Street looking up toward Broadway. Today this spot is a block from where the World Trade Center towers stood. Broadway, a major thoroughfare even then, was packed with trolley cars with the occasional horse-drawn cart on the side. It's amazing to see that many trolley cars in one place — there are at least 15 cars that I can see just on a stretch of five or six blocks.
