Total eclipse of the sun

The moon begins to obstruct the view of the sun during a soloar eclipse as seen from Tian'anmen Square on Jan. 15 in Shenyang in China's Liaoning province.

The eclipse, which first became visible in Tamil Nadu city of Kanyakumari, was the longest eclipse of its kind and the last expected appear for the next 1,000 years.
