As far as selfies go, “adventurous” isn't the first word to come to mind. By taking high-quality, self-made photos of his face, Christoph Rehage changed the meaning of “selfie” when he documented his face during a 4,500-kilometer walk across China in 2008.

While Rehage didn’t trek all the way back to his home in Germany, he did grow an impressive beard. He shaved it off at the end of the trip explaining, “there are beard times, and there are non-beard times.” Whatever the facial hair occasion, the upbeat music and varied backdrops make for a cultural selfie experience on "The Longest Way."
