NBC Universal has set a goal for the holidays: to plant one million trees by Dec. 31, via its Green is Universal platform's Share a Tree campaign. Partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation, it will host a virtual Twitter party during the televised Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony on Nov. 28. For each tweet posted using the hashtag #ShareaTree, texting TREE to 49833, or hanging a virtual ornament at greenisuniversal.com, one tree will be planted. Performers on the special include Trace Adkins, Tony Bennett, Mariah Carey, Cee Lo Green, Chris Mann, Scotty McCreery, Rod Stewart and Il Volo.

Tune in: Scientists investigate the mysterious mass deaths of Australian crocodiles, and the unexplained demise of a dozen sharks in "Stranger Than Nature: Croc Shock," premiering Nov. 28 on Nat Geo Wild. Then on Nov. 30 on Wild, "Man v. Monster: Amazon River Beast" tracks a deadly creature attacking villagers.

 

The Weather Channel chronicles the heroic efforts to save the crew of the HMS Bounty during Superstorm Sandy in the special "Coast Guard: HMS Bounty Rescue," premiering Dec. 5.

 

In the Dec. 6 episode on Bravo, "Project Runway All Stars" contestants vie to create a winning red carpet gown using only eco-friendly fabrics and materials in a green challenge. Diane von Furstenberg is the guest judge.
