Makha Bucha day

Buddhist monks chant religious verses on Makha Bucha, which falls on Feb. 25 this year, at the Dhammakaya Temple in the Pathum Thani province of Thailand.

Observed on the full moon of the third lunar month of the year at local temples in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos, Makha Bucha commemorates the day when 1,250 monks gathered to be ordained by the Buddha.
