Shocktoberfest draws thousands

Nearly 2,000 Shocktober attendees dressed as zombies raise their hands on Oct. 6 while attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the most zombies together in one place. The gathering of undead didn't break the world record, but it did succeed in claiming the U.K. title.

 

Getting into the Halloween spirit

Visitors decked out in bloody zombie chic socialize at Shocktober Fest. Halloween is not as much of an established annual tradition in Europe compared to the United States, but the organizers of Shocktober are working to change that — one haunted house and spooky hayride at a time.

 

A picnic for humans and zombies alike

A fake severed hand rests on a picnic table as Shocktober Fest attendees enjoy a meal. Running for 18 nights of fright, Shocktoberfest features haunted houses, hayrides, mazes, trails and even flashmobs.
