In 2009, this architecturally unique gas station was built in Los Angeles’ Mid-City neighborhood for $7 million. The design was inspired by the area’s nearby freeway interchanges: The 30-foot canopy of the United Oil gas station mimics the freeway, and a swooping ramp takes patrons over the rear of the market and into a carwash.
