Opened in 1914, the Sperry Chalet has remained relatively unchanged despite its rugged environment. Except for the kitchen and restroom facilities (think composting toilets!), the interiors and exteriors of the buildings are almost exactly the same as they were when it was first built. From the start of the main trail, it is a 6.7-mile hike and, on average, takes 4.5 hours to hike. You might even see some mountain goats along the way!
