CallistoAs the second-largest moon in Jupiter's orbit, Callisto lies farther away from Jupiter than both Europa and Ganymede, and thus experiences less tidal heating. Even so, there are many who believe a liquid water layer may exist under the surface. Because of its low radiation levels, Callisto has long been considered the most suitable place for a human base (see PDF) for future exploration of the Jovian system.

I have one simple question... WHy are scientists spending billions of dollars trying to figure out how to get man to other planets and other projects when they can be figuring out ways to start life process on other planets? I mean they have all their theories about how life started on Earth, the evolution theory, all their facts and such. Why not put that to practice? Send microbes to other planet and see how they survive.
