Don't ignore the check engine light

Ignoring the glow of the check engine light isn't going to make it go away. Whether the warning on your particular vehicle reads 'check engine,' 'service engine soon' or simply displays an outline of an engine in yellow, it's telling you there's a problem that could be affecting your fuel economy. This light can indicate anything from a loose gas cap to a faulty oxygen sensor, so it's important to head to an auto parts store as soon as possible for a diagnostic test.
