The Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills competition is an investment in the future of young people interested in the automotive industry. Designed to encourage students to pursue automotive industry careers, the competition includes written tests and hands-on challenges for student-teacher teams at the local, state and national levels. Support for the competition comes from key sponsors including NAPA Auto Parts who, for the third year in a row, provided use of their campus for the Georgia state finals.

Along with the unique opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals, the highest-performing students and their teachers have the chance to win scholarships, tools and more. The grand prize is an all-expense paid trip to the Wood Brothers Racing facility where students and teachers work on racecars with top automotive engineers and attend a race as VIPs.

“These students have proven to this point to be the best of their school and we’d like to see them take it to the next level to be the technicians of tomorrow,” says Pete Candela, Approved Auto Repair Program Manager for AAA.
