The traffic study for Tysons Corner demonstrates that, even with four rail stops and mixed use buildings at the rail stops, about 60% of the trips to and from Tysons will be by Single Occupant Vehicle. The plans for Tysons contemplate more than $230 million in road widening projects, plus countless millions more in intersection and interchange improvements.

Tysons Tomorrow (www.tysonstomorrow.org) fully supports the vision of the Tysons Land Use Task Force and believes that transit-oriented development will bring dramatic change to an area defined by traffic congestion and large shopping malls with even larger parking lots.
