View:About fabric softners
Posted By Sheri - Mon, May 31 2010 at 5:17 PM ESTlaundry products-- fabric softrners/ dryer sheets have active ingredients made from fats. I know because as retired lab tech. I worked for the producer. Meat producers were looking for something to do with left over lard esp. after detergents replaced soaps for laundry and less was used for frying. We were proud of our organic process that kept nonfood grade fats out of landfills...some of the additives for scent I'm not so sure about!
This gets me started again

Things to avoid
Posted By carolene carter - Sat, Apr 17 2010 at 7:43 PM ESTThank you for this list! This helps to draw the line in the sand. I believe people would prefer to protect the planet if they just knew how to do so. Now we all know what it will take to do our part. Down with plastic bottles!
I like your list

You'd be amazed!
Posted By nightowl22366 - Wed, Aug 04 2010 at 5:25 PM ESTYou'd be amazed and disgusted at how many people are too lazy or stupid to take even a couple of these steps!
I insulted an entire church not too long ago when I gently told them they shouldn't be having a dinner handed out on styrofoam plates. I told them I wouldn't eat off of styrofoam, and asked if they had any actual plates to use - they told me it was too much trouble!
Needless to say, I don't participate in their church anymore...
