Jing Ai cosmetics
I am very excited for my friend Donna Cristino. Tonight, she will debut her Jing Ai natural and organic cosmetics on QVC during the Tuesday Night Beauty segment. Sometime between 9-10 p.m EST, she will get to introduce her Jing Ai Sierra Glow Duo to 100 million households.

I love this product. I use it every day (or should I say every day that I choose to put on makeup). It never feels heavy on my skin, but it gives great coverage. My skin always has a healthy glow when I’m wearing Sierra Glow.

Donna (pictured at left) began Jing Ai just about three years ago. She has poured her heart and soul into this company, striving to make a quality product using the purest ingredients. I’ve sat in her kitchen with her as we’ve debated packaging (recycled? forest stewardship certified? recyclable?). I’ve seen her face light up as she’s told me that she was going to start using certified organic champagne grapes in some of her products — marrying her passions for the environment and glamour. I’m incredibly proud of Donna for what she has accomplished and her never-compromise attitude. I wanted to give her a chance to tell you a little bit about Jing Ai and its debut on QVC. She graciously agreed to answer some questions for me during this very busy time.

MNN: You are committed to creating the most eco-friendly cosmetic line that you can. Why is that so important to you?
Donna Cristino: I’m committed to an eco-friendly cosmetic for two reasons — the wonderful women who will wear my products and this fabulous Earth that we live on. Many cosmetic lines unnecessarily introduce harsh ingredients and chemicals onto their users skins and into their bodies. It was important to me create an eco-friendly cosmetic line formulated with nourishing, natural and USDA-certified organic ingredients for the health of my customers. It’s also important for the health of the Earth. In addition to the ingredients in the cosmetics being more earth-friendly, I’ve strived to use sustainable packaging designs wherever possible.

What is different about Jing Ai than some of the other eco-friendly brands out there?
I think one of the differences between Jing Ai and some other eco-friendly brands is that I make sustainability a priority throughout the whole process. I use the purest ingredients for the cosmetics, utilize animal-friendly labs (my products are endorsed by Leaping Bunny) and support sustainable practices in packaging design and manufacturing.

Tell us a little more about your packaging. What's so special about it?
Our duo and concealer pots are 100-percent recyclable and manufactured with up to 95 percent post-consumer content while still feeling and looking great. The manufacturing process for our packaging produces no pollutants into the air, water or waste stream. Paper waste produced during production gets recycled, virtually eliminating paper from the waste stream. Our boxes and components are assembled with water-based adhesives and printed using soy ink.

Tell us about the product you’ll be introducing on QVC tonight.
I’m introducing the Jing Ai Siera Glow Duo in Piccadilly with a Kabuki Brush (pictured above). It’s a versatile product that can be used on the eyelids, cheeks, declotae (cleavage) or anywhere you desire a healthy burst of color. I apply the darker shade as a bronzer then incorporate the lighter shade to highlight the cheek and eyelid area. The brush, which is made with synthetic hair, is the perfect tool for creating that perfect blend of color.

What other products are in your cosmetic line. Where can we go to purchase them?
I have developed what I feel are the essential products that every women desires, whether for a night on the town or a trip to your local grocery store. Our product line includes two additional great shades of the Duo, concealers, lip pencils, lip glosses, eye liner and mascara. You can purchase our Duo and all of Jing Ai's great products on our Jing Ai website. And, for weekly beauty tips and my thoughts on my favorite eco-friendly products, check out the Jing Ai blog.

I wish Donna the best of luck tonight as she gets to share her amazing products with QVC viewers. If you’re around the TV on Aug. 21 between 9-10 p.m. EST, tune in to see Donna and her Jing Ai brand of natural and organic cosmetics.
