Estheticians employ gastropods

Snails crawl on the face of a woman as part of a new spa treatment offered at the Ci:z.Labo beauty salon on July 13 in Tokyo.

"Slime from snails helps remove old cells, heal the skin after sun burn and moisturize it," salon employee Manami Takamura said while placing three gastropods on a woman's face.

The moisturization treatment joins the ranks of other strange spa services like exfoliating fish pedicures and nightingale poop facials.
