The real importance has to be human population control. How will any wild animal survive when the Earth is exploding in people. Consider this: India currently has 1.25 Billion People with a daily population increase of 240,000. They will want products that create pollution. What will there carbon footprint be.??

Polar bears are growing in population.
Posted By Me - Thu, Jan 14 2010 at 11:41 AM ESTAnd again.
Global warming is a fact, its our fault. Without the involvment of the human race it would've happened gradually and over 10s of thousands of years, but we just sped it up x100
Posted By Ме - Thu, Jan 14 2010 at 11:37 AM ESTPlease, do think.
Yes extinction is a natural element of life, but still, we are talking about forcing into extinction. If we force animals into extinction then we may accidentally disrupt the balance of nature, and then nothing will help. Mankind is trying to survive by any means, that is in our genes, but also in our genes is the ability to think, and make brighter decisions...

Everyone is an expert in Biology. Except creationists, but aside from that, basically everyone... wow.
Posted By Anonymous - Tue, Dec 22 2009 at 8:26 PM ESTDont be stupid
You're all ignorant morons, 99% of all species that have ever existed have gone extinct. When one dies another will develop to fill its empty niche. Learn2Think
Posted By Lily - Thu, Dec 31 2009 at 1:49 PM ESTThanks
I'm glad someone said it! Do you know how Polar bears came into existance in the first place? Their territory used to be Grizzly bear territory. Over time there was an *OH NOES!* CLIMATE CHANGE! Polar bears evolved from Grizzlies to fit the new climate of the area. Now everyone's flipping their **** because the Earth is doing what it does, changing.
Posted By Anonymous - Sun, Dec 27 2009 at 6:23 PM ESTreally?
do you really think that the specific niche can be so easily filled by another animal? or will evolution take place in a couple years? that is ridiculous. if that is what you believe, then take a look at our oceans. top predators are in decline and are being replace by other organisms that in no way replicate their exact role in their niche. next type you want to make a ridiculous statement, perhaps realize that you may be the ignorant one.
Posted By Jommeke - Sat, Dec 19 2009 at 10:41 AM ESTwe'll join this list in the end
This list only contains the big well known animals, but there are also many more small and very important creatures on the verge of extinction. And although it might look as if the human race is the only one who's doing well, what will be left in the end are the Salmonella's, HIV's and Plasmodiums of this world. Good luck with such neighbours.
Posted By Kyle - Mon, Dec 14 2009 at 7:45 AM ESTTake a second and think!
Aside from the many obvious and not-so-obvious causes for life to become extinct that are not their fault, it is also completely natural!! More species than we could imagine have appeared and gone extinct in the worlds history. It is natural, it is evolution, it is fact.
I imagine the one good reason to protect a species that is otherwise naturally doomed for extinction (the panda bear, for example) is so future generations can enjoy them. But how much resources are we really putting.... More

polar bears are not dieing naturally it is because of human impact that the temperature of the earth is increasing. this isn't really nature doing what it normally does

I can sympathize with Tim. I often feel like there is just no hope, this horror just keeps keeping on. One day I hear that we saved one animal and the next I hear about the deaths of hundreds more. It's insanity and it is beyond my understanding but I promise to fight for them. I will fight until the world winks out for me. That is all I can do... no matter how useless it sometimes seems.

The extinction of species will have a ripple effect on the human race. We HAVE TO preserve and protect wildlife!
Posted By david - Mon, Nov 02 2009 at 4:13 PM ESTglobal financial pyramid
We must begin to think on a global scale. The world of money exists today like a pyramid. The ones with the money and power sit at the top of the pyramid, and as the pyramid goes lower people have less and less power as the pyramid heads downward along with quality of life.
In the USA its republican against democrat. Conservative against liberal. As long as we remain ignorant to their manipulations through their money, and its funneled down so the true source cannot be found and we.... More

No one should kill the animals as the Congress said it was okay to have a rifle in the Natl Parks & I say it is wrong. My uncle, Al Rubano, worked in the Bronx Zoo & we as children loved the animals. Stop the killings.

Capitalism, Communism, Globalism, Tribalism, every element of mankind are the cause(s), we all know that. But, living in the United States and being one part of the problem myself do KNOW that Capitalism is an IMMENSE NEGATIVE when talking about LIFE on Earth, that even takes we human's into account our OWN future does not look to good if we continue to ALLOW Capitalism, Big Business, and the forces of Consumerism to remain in control of decision making in the U.S. and around the World..... Don't you realize?
All these random facts you find on the internet are not making you any smarter, they're eating off your brain while bombarding you with advertisements you will associate with random stimuli. So next time you're in the crapper and hear someone with that new "call me mr. bedrock" song as their ringtone and you feel like shipping something through fedex, don't blame Obama, it was the illuminati.
