i love animals, and thought these stories were great - but diane: you think other animals are superior? even if these stories were entirely true, i think it is safe to say humans are far more compassionate as a whole seeing as we not only have countless charities towards our own benefit but also ones that help save animals and plants. whether or not you creationists want to hear this, we're animals and we came from them. whatever traits such as compassion and intellect that are found in us.... right...

you really think we are superior to animals?
-if it wasn't for us millions of other species wouldn't be extinct
-we cause more pollution because of our greed (needing the best clothes)
-animals don't over breed naturally
-we need to use 11 million trees a year in ALBERTA alone
-most of us think of environment problems as a lie
-we think animals don't matter (kids exploded cat in microwave, only got 5 weeks of community service, person murders someone, life time in.... More

still

Doesn't change the fact that we are superior to animals in every way. Our greed is because we prioritize humans above other animals as it should be. Unless your not part of the majority that enjoys a middle-class lifestyle you shouldn't criticize humans.

you're a thick one

right, the middle class transcends criticism because it's so amazing

The what?

What amazes me is that everyone is so keen to interpret animal behaviour as something so special and superior to humans. Diane tries to preempt any reply by saying that anyone who disagrees lacks intellect and compassion - nice one Diane!
There is nothing wrong with finding these acts amazing, whilst also accepting that they are normal instinctive animal behaviour. Some of the stories ("mama baby"!!) sound like they have grown a little with retelling, but just about everything here.... More

The compassion of other species

It is clear to me that other animals who are so often abused by the human animal are often superior. Many have intellect, and compassion. and all empirical evidence is dismissed by those who lack both.

true

i completely agree.

Dolphin saves surfer from shark attack

Surfer David Rastovich describes a how a dolphin saved him from a shark attack. “I was sitting in the water, when all of a sudden I saw a dolphin next to me that was behaving unusually hectic. From the top I saw how the dolphin came flying and hit a shark hard in the side. I myself hadn’t even seen the shark before,” he recalled.
