Japanese are light years ahead of the US. so is the rest of the world. tea party are neanderthals. MNN pretty much 'moderates' any context for any post which is why there are no posts on this site.

well done, MNN, at squelching debate.

re: first letter I lived in Asia as well and first of all there are no trash bags like here, as the trash truck comes every night and people are on every corner recycling EVERYTHING unlike here. you can walk everywhere or take public transportation. you NEVER have to drive ANYWHERE!!! still western fast food culture has indeed invaded all of Asia!!!! next will be diabetes cancer and obesity!!!! Japanese aren't perfect. they bludgeon dolphins and will cause extinction of bluefins and ignore intl
.... More
ban on whaling etc. but half of energy Japan uses is from 'clean' energy!!! can anybody top this? in my denialist backward right wing small city, property owners have to pay extra every year when the city doesn't produce ENOUGH garbage since it entered into a totally asinine 'agreement' with a garbage collector to produce so much tonnage of trash...you get PUNISHED for recycling and producing no garbage!!!!! by the city for being blackmailed by a 'privatized' garbage collector!!!!! privatization: right wing love it though it has never worked!!!! can't get much more backwards than that except Italy where mafia runs trash service and right now there is a trash crisis. GOP will say at least we're not Italy!!!! 95% of jobs 'created' during tea party congress have been min wage fast food jobs even though studies show 90% of roadside garbage in the US is from fast food containers!!!! get used to hearing 'at least we're not ______' in a GOP presidency. when rivers are on fire, at least we're not ____; when cancers skyrocket from no EPA, at least we're not _____; very patriotic!!!!!!something to look forward to!!!!

I question the accuracy of the information in this graphic. My daughter lived in Japan and was amazed at how much garbage was incinerated there. The graphic shows no incineration in Japan. How much of the other information is inaccurate?

How good are you about recycling? Do you recycle everything possible or just at home or work? Or does it only happen when somewhere makes it easy? (at a park with recycle stations next to each trash can for example.)
