If your mailbox is like mine, you may suddenly find yourself at this time of year inundated with donation requests from charity organizations large and small.  

So how do you decide which charity to give to? Do you pick the one with a cause closest to you heart? Or the one with the cute marketing campaign? Do those greeting cards and address labels guilt you into sending a check?

It's always good idea to do a little research before you make your donations.
