I know many people get to look forward to tax refunds this year, but as a freelance writer, I usually owe taxes in April. That means on Tax Day yesterday, my bank account suffered a big decrease —
 
Luckily, I have a constrictive way to channel my Tax Day blues: Supporting Sierra Club’s efforts to phase out subsidies and tax breaks to big oil. Pointing out that Exxon Mobil made $19 billion in profit last year — but still benefits from subsidies funded by taxpayers — Sierra Club’s campaigning to make oil companies pay their fair share of taxes.
 
 
Watch the video — then send a letter to Congress asking your elected officials to phase out subsidies and tax breaks to Big Oil.
